Belonged to the waters

My dad was a fisherman. That’s one of the reasons why water always fascinates me. When I was kid dad used to get all varieties of fishes and I had a habit of collecting all different bones of fishes and making them into ornaments and in times I would go with him for fishing. The view of the blue is so exhilarating .Swimming was my best time killer but dad always advised me not to go too deep on the North and he won’t tell why. So I would avoid going that side but I would someday go see what’s there. I’m Nina,gonna be eighteen year old and my parents want me to get married and it frustrates me that I can’t have a dream because people around me believe the ultimate goal of a girl is to get married and give birth. Today was the day I was supposed to meet my groom but instead I chose to run away into the water as I always believed water has a solution for all the problems . I jumped into the cold. I felt the water around me, it felt like I belonged here. I started swimming towards the North because it didn’t matter if I died ,as all of them I loved hate me because I ran away. I know my parents, my relatives, my friends all hate me. I didn’t know for how long I swam. I started feeling cold, dizzy. I could barely see anyone. A large wave hit my side. I couldn’t swim, I could feel me sinking, I’m going down and down but I can’t open my eyes. I’m tired. I feel warmth radiating from someone. 

              I open my eyes I’m laying on bed an the place looks like Disney princesses bedrooms. For some unknown reason I’m not scared I wanna explore every inch of this place as I started sitting up I heard a voice. 

      ” Hey, you’re up? “

    ” Woah woah who are you? ” I’m startled but I take a keen look at him. He’s got blue eyes just like the ocean, sharp nose, pink lips, a little unshaven beard , sharp jawline and chiseled chest, thick arms and below his torso there’s no legs… .. He had a fishtail kinda thing. 

“I’m Romania “

” I don’t  wanna know, can you let me go please I won’t tell anybody I met you. Leave me go” I was on the verge of tears. He came close to me and I fell back to the bed. He noticed the fear in my eyes and took a step back. He was fighting to keep a straight face. I felt bad. I wanna comfort him but I can’t. 

” You have to meet the king and once you’re fine you can leave ” His voice was addicting. It gave me tingles in my chest. 

I was staring at him without even blinking. 

Still in the same position as I fell in the bed. He came down close to me, and I knew he was coming close and I didn’t back away this time he came close an pulled my wrist so I was standing now. 

” You have to meet the king. ” He said and left before I could react. 

I wanted to kiss him. I don’t know what’s gotten into my mind. 

I walked behind him like a lost puppy. 

I wanted to talk to him…. Know him… 

” Hey, I’m Nina I’m sorry I didn’t mean to make you feel low or something. I was scared to see your tail. I haven’t seen something like that and also you looked too handsome and you were shirtless I haven’t seen any guy … … ” Before I could finish my rambling he started laughing. I just stared at him in awww he has dimples and his eyes shone dark blue when he laughs. 

    The king is Roman’s dad.and he asked me to rest and stay in for a while and it’s not like I have somewhere to be, so I agreed to stay. 

Now I have been here for a week. I see Roman in the dinner with the king and queen. The little eye contact he makes, wants me to tear apart the gap between us. The whole week I went around the castle and saw many beautiful creatures. They spoke like humans too. 

Nobody questioned me about where I came from or who I am. 

                They treated me like a princess and I was very happy but every now and then I think about my dad. 

             After dinner I was about to go to my bed but I saw Roman walking behind me. I could feel him, I could feel his breath on my neck. I turned around and his eyes were dark blue like he was craving something or he was angry but I don’t know. I stood there staring at his blue pool of ocean. The gap between us closed. I closed my eyes and his lips touched mine, they were soft as feathers. His lips dominated mine… . . His kiss had lust an wanting in it. It was just raw . His hands reached breast over my clothes brushing over my nipple slightly. My erected nipples are now visible through the pink gown I was wearing. He carried me to another bed which I guess was his room. He released me on the bed. He spoke. 

” You want me in the human form or merman? “He asked

I was taken back . After a few seconds I answered. 

” I haven’t seen you in human form but I like you the way you are. “

“Nina, I want to make love to you. I want to make you feel all that you haven’t felt I want to touch you, feel you. Is it okay if I make love with you? “

I just kissed his lips as hard as I could he took control of me. His touches made me moan, scream and I felt vulnerable in a good way . He made love to me that was the best night of my life. He put a seahorse pendant on my neck. And we fell asleep. 

When I open my eyes I’m in my home in my old bed. My heart started sinking. Is that all a dream? I wondered, I looked at my neck. I had the pendant which Roman gave. I cried. I didn’t know what to do. The next thing I know I’m getting ready to meet the groom my dad said. A voice in my head kept pleading with me to do things and I did. I was asked to take a look at the groom and he had the same blue eyes. It was Roman, my Roman, the king and the queen had also come. But all of them had legs and behaved like humans. The same evening I was married to Roman as he had told my dad he had to go out of town for business and it will take years to come back. With that he took me back to oceans where I belonged and I was the future queen and I had responsibilities to do unlike human life. I’m a mermaid too. And I belonged to the waters.
